A Life of Many Phases
Kelly Maloney:
In the midst of a successful career working with animals, I found my life at a crossroads. Consumed with burnout, I realized there was no path forward. However, painting had always been a part of me—a quiet joy that patiently waited in the background. Eventually, when I finally turned to art as a way to heal and explore, I discovered a new world of possibilities
Since leaving my previous job, I’ve fully immersed myself in learning new skills. For instance, I’ve mastered Adobe Illustrator, while also diving into filming and video editing. In addition, I’ve taken on building a website, creating engaging social media content, and exploring a variety of art mediums.. Through surface pattern design, I’ve found a way to combine my passions and bring stories to life, using the knowledge I’ve gained to share my art with the world
Core Values
I believe in being open minded, and meeting people with kindness. I also love to share the things I know, and learn from those who have carved the way before me. A few values I hold dear in this life are:
Creativity
Embracing artistic expression and innovation in all you do. Creativity is the solution to unlocking new possibilities and overcoming challenges
Authenticity
Staying true to yourself and your unique voice. Being yourself because everyone else is taken.
Growth
Constantly learning, evolving, and exploring new creative avenues. Learning from those who have done it before, and listening intentionally.
Connection
Building relationships through art has been essential to me. Whether I’m connecting with my audience, learning from mentors, or exploring the subjects of my work, each connection enriches my creative journey and deepens my understanding

Art Supplies
The Holbein paints are currently one of my favorite gouache sets to use. Not only are the colors bright and pigmented, but they also have a wonderfully smooth texture
